Récit
The Récit corpus spawned from my meeting actor Nathan Tordjman, while working on the Improvisations project -getting undressed and bearing it all-, in which he brought clothes into the scope of our shooting sessions as a transitional object for a specific memory. Nathan has progressively rid himself of this plan by letting real or imaginary characters reappear.
As regulars sessions went by, he was invited to relive certain strong experiences from his life, by bringing back sensations and a fleshly posture but, beyond, by allowing for memories or fantasies to reappear in his moves or gazes. A narrative on presence and memory is the result of this.
Initially finalised in my studio –Acte I–, we embarked on a travel back in time by entering new theatres such as the Petit Palais –Acte II–, Hôtel Soltykoff in Paris –Interlude– and the Sillon beach in Saint-Malo –Acte III– which turned into revisited spaces, transcended by the performances.
